Young Progressive Organization Embarks on Tri-City Door Knocking Event

Fargo, ND – New Generation North Dakota (NGND), a political organization that mobilizes and advocates for young progressives across the state of North Dakota is embarking on their biggest endeavor since being formed in 2011.

The organization whose home base is in Fargo is also traveling to Bismarck and Grand Forks this weekend to organize young progressives and others to knock doors for a slate of young candidates running for elected office. The event us being called “KNOCKtober,” and it is taking place this weekend.

Robert Trefethren, ND Young Democrats of America Representative and event organizer says, “This project has been a huge plan in the making and it all started at our state convention where the original idea was to travel across the state. We have decided for many reasons to personally knock in three cities and do calls into the other cities where we have candidates running.”

The other community areas where NGND will be calling into are: Minot, Dickinson, Williston, and Valley City. In addition to the grassroots volunteers that will come out for the event, the national Young Democrats of America organization is sending two representatives to help organize and participate in “KNOCKtober”.

“It speak volumes that we have people coming in from a national organization to aid us in our efforts. Our state party has done an excellent job recruiting viable and talented candidates that will serve our North Dakota well. We have several legislative races across the state that are in play and we can’t afford to sit on our hands and watch what has been happening in Bismarck happen again. We desperately need political balance in North Dakota,” said Ken Story, NGND President.

NGND will be knocking doors and making calls in Grand Forks on Friday, Fargo on Saturday, and Bismarck on Sunday. For more information visit their website at newgenerationnorthdakota.com.
